Remembering One of Our Own: CptCarnage
It’s with a heavy heart that I share some incredibly sad news. CptCarnage (Jeff Mossop), a long-time member and one of the original pillars of the Minecraft Addicts community, passed away January 30th 2026.
Carnage was part of MCA from the very beginning. Over the years, he became not just a community staple, but one of my closest friends. I spoke with his wife shortly after his passing and had been able to attend his celebration of life and wanted to let the community know directly. For those who may ask what happened, his wife shared the following:
“Carnage got a gastro bug starting on near the end of January and it was so bad it caused an infection. He was admitted to the hospital for sepsis. The infection was too much for his body to fight and he died the next night. He loved playing and chatting with all of you so much.”
For the past 15 years, Carnage was a big part of my life. We spent countless hours gaming, troubleshooting tech and websites, trading memes, and talking about things we both loved like Star Trek. He was someone I who would pop online again, ready to jump into another convo or project. Losing that presence hurts more than I can put into words.
In the past few years, Carnage was around less often, only popping in from time to time. During that time, he built something he had always dreamed of back in the early MCA days: a family. He leaves behind a loving wife and two children. His wife shared that she hopes one day their kids will get to experience the massive gaming library he built and enjoy the worlds he loved exploring.
A memorial for him is now places in the historic world not far from his builds in the downtown district. He will be able to over look his builds for a long time to come.

Please keep his family in your thoughts. The MCA community lost one of its originals, and many of us lost a friend.
Rest easy, Carnage. You will always be part of this server and this community. 🖤🎮 At his celebration of life i had given his wife a small image with many of the minecraft users he has played, mentored, and became friends with over the years.

15th Anniversary Sept 23rd 2025 Celebration video
Back in the Alpha days of 2010, a little Minecraft server started… and somehow, 15 years later, it’s still running! 😲
We’ve kept it alive through updates, downtime, and countless blocky adventures — and even though our community is small now, it’s still passionate and creative. To celebrate this huge milestone, we put together an anniversary video packed with history, epic builds, and nostalgia from over the years.
If you’ve ever played Minecraft in its early days, or just love seeing long-running projects survive the test of time, this one’s for you.
