Mojang Sold To Microsoft for $2.5 Billion Dollars

Really hope this doesn't adversely affect any native Linux users, from what I understand, the game's been a real boon for the platform. General community consensus over on /r/minecraft seems fairly negative but it's really too early to say whether we'll see a boost in development (anyone remember a certain modding API?) and server infrastructure or if MS will steer us down a path of bing/hotmail/whatever accounts and C&Ds to modders.

Either way, future development on Scrolls hasn't even been confirmed so I feel for anyone who owns/is a fan of/works on that game.

On a happier note for any of Cobalt's millions of fans (surprisingly tens of thousands sold, who knew?) you seem to be in the clear as Mojang are only the publisher.

Whatever way they decide to take Minecraft, we'll be celebrating/complaining together in the good ol' addicts community!

Also updated your thread title Jeff, think the sale was for a little more than $2.50 ;)

*cough* maple.

they could at least mac understandable. not the crap their OS hsa

I find it funny someone with an Apple logo avatar is announcing the recent success of their biggest adversary.

Is it really a success to buy an already established game? Nor is it relevant that I like Apple products?

Iwuv, they're not even worth that much. Don't give them too much money.

Mac is awesome. But of course, you boys just can't afford one!!!!!!!!!

Lets see. What a mac book pro has for $2000 you could build in a pc with windows for like, $1300. Just my two cents.

And I'd like to see you aford one, not your parents ;)
