Hello Addicts,

As some of you know through ingame discussions, Staff are reviewing server donations this year, trying to get ourselves more in line with the Mojang EULA, and more current with what people need on the server.

I'd like to hear your ideas here about how donations are working on the MCA server, and also what people might like to see added or removed donation-wise.

Please consider the EULA in your ideas, We are trying to move closer to complying with that.

how about a donation worth about 10-20$ ish that will grant the use of the command /quickpick (or something along the lines of that) once for each time they pay the amount. with that command it would grant them with an eff 5 diamondpick

One point I will make on this is it will be taking it a step away from the EULA as although the current kits and perks include pickaxes but they are normal unenchanted pickaxes. Do we want to take that step further from EULA?


One thing that I have suggested before and which might get more people donating regularly is to get a regular donation option where it will automatically (standing order type thing) donate for us until we cancel it? To make this something that people do over the single donations to give a small percentage above the current cap value.

Paypal can do this option!

Also, I calculated it out and and the cost of 1400 caps is $7.70USD; dph sells better ones than just EffV for about 600 caps, so unless the EffV is regenerating, the $10-20 donation might be questionable.
 
It was an option with fly and god mode but hasn't been reapplied.
Mk would need to make sure his account is setup to handle subscriptions, I've enabled it for now and renamed the option.


As far as I can see, caps and tool kits will be removed (everyone should check they've redeemed all their tool kits). Enderchests and /craft will be available to everyone and everyone's PW limits will increased to diamond level.
 
I'm sorry, what does this mean? " PW limits will increased to diamond level. "
 
If I read the EULA correctly, does it say you can't sell me XP unless everyone could access the same, without having to purchase the XP? Because there have been times that I wished that I could purchase XP.
 
Features that affect gameplay are not allowed to be sold.
This would mean that directly awarding XP from a donation would be against the EULA. However the one thing that is mentioned is XP boosters, these would have to affect the entire server for the timed duration.
 
i tohught the rules on the EULA were basically you cant have items that you cant get ingame without paying irl money for.

Does the pw limit increase include Reps too? ;)
Is this in place now or were you talking about the proposed god mode?

... I think I ought to go redeem my kits ASAP regardless.
 
Well, instead of moving away from the EULA, go towards it... create a bonus item that can be purchased that affects everyone on the server -that is logged on at THAT moment-... think of it like buying a round of drinks for everyone in the bar... it would mean the more you're online, the more rounds you get to share... and if someone isn't online at the time, it doesn't break the EULA because it was offered to the entire server...

Would sort of item?
Something like an XP Boost that lasts for 10 days or something would be allowed, but I'm pretty sure an item would not be.
 
I was reading up on it and i dodnt notice anything about this but im not sure if its aloud or not but is there a way we could donate to enter a draw of sorts or would that also be shut down?

2- caps are going away? When? (too bad, I think it adds an interesting element to the game)

3- What is diamond level pw? (nowhere can I find a list describing what these levels are/do-but I see this question may be moot.)

4. I am not familiar with the command /craft. What does this do?

1) Godmode is a previously sold time limited perk which you could activate which meant that you couldn't die in PVE or the Nether.

2) Not in their entirity we will still have caps as that is allowed by the EULA just the selling of caps for real money which is the bulk of our donations currently.

3) Diamond level pw, this is just the private warps the diamond rank gives as extra. It is 50 private warps total.

4) /Craft is basically a portable workbench. Imagine typing /craft instead of right clicking on a crafting bench. Some of us use that instead of benches. In my point of view it just tidies up the plot.

so what about a day at the end of each period (at which the server is payed for) if we reach the goal then the server gets a drop party at spawn or something? Just drop some spawned in high-end loot at spawn or something.

Caps will be removed when we make changes to the donation options.

This is something that could happen.
 
You wrote "Caps will be removed" . caps will still be given for voting and for currency, and the store we can buy and sell stuff?
