1.2.5 pre-release works on 1.2.4 server

Well, they made it a little more obvious then. 1.2.5 isn't really big stuff, just bug fixes and a little more goodness like shift clicking furnaces. I'm not going to use it due to optioned not being 1.2.5 compatible.

If you mean optifined, it is now both 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 compatable

Using a 1.2.4 client on the server allows shift clicking to work in furnaces even though your client is not the latest.

The 'Pick Block' button has been around for a while now..

There is a new function to the "pick block" button, while in creative it actually puts the block into your hotbar. The older function only works if you already had the block in your hotbar.
