The original Forbidden City, in China is a city built for the Emperor, started in the 14th Century and continuously built till the 1930's

It is unbelievably large with many buildings and gardens.

Overview:

My Forbidden City Project is a large (5 plot) project in Rivers, approx 346,920 squares in area.

It's going to be a 2:1 scale and as authentic as I can make it.

Here is a map of the city http://www.chinatravelcompass.com/be...City_Map_5.gif

I have some constructions already at X-438 Z4420 (Rivers bottom left corner)

Timeline:

I feel this will take about 12 months, I only have 1~2 hours a day to do Minecraft.

I will post photos of course.

Please re-name this thread Follow My Build, Ancient city of Rome.

I found the Forbidden City too boring, everything was red wool and stone, so I decided on a city, the city of Rome in ancient times.

A living city, not the ruins.

But, this is not city of Rome that you will find in history books. this is the city of Rome as ruled by the tyrannical, megalomaniac known as Julius KKing. He was so depraved and disgusting that all records of him were erased... till now.

The first view of his City that a visitor would see...

Through the Gate of Triumph we can see, in the distance, Circus Maximus

Left is the Temple of Adoration, middle Circus Maximus, right the Forum for the Contemplation of Doom

The Temple of Adoration is where KKIng's subjects can file up the stairs, around his golden throne, all the while singing his praise.

And, if they do not sing KKing's praises to his liking, there is the Forum for the Contemplation of Doom.

It is here that the doomed subjects are forced to play a form of Chess, where the loser pays with their life.

Only KKing knows the rules to the game.

Onwards we travel to Circus Maximus. A chariot racing arena, designed to seat 120,000 subjects, 600 meters in distance, each race being 7 laps. This is where Julius KKing would indulge one of his favorite pastimes, betting on who would crash and get crushed by the following horses.

Now, we have the City of Rome itself. The place were 500,000 people lived, played and died. Crowded, noisy, smelly, but totally ordered and organised

I think there will be well over 100 such dwellings on the property.

I am also aiming to build some more mega structures and palaces.

Due to the huge size of the land, I feel an overhead railway system, figure 8 style will be required to see it properly and would appreciate some financial help with that, later on, once the city has become more substantial.
