I think we should have a more detailed application so the people who put some effort into it don't grief as much, we seem to have a problem with them recently.

Here is an Example

Name:

Last server you were in, and why did you leave:

Why are you applying to minecraftaddicts?:

Do you know anyone on the server?

Do you know have family/ RL Friends on the server?

Rate your comprehension of English out of 10:

Describe yourself as a person/player:

Do you have sole access to your account, or do other people (eg, sibling, friend, spouse) have access to it?

Your Age:

Your Nationality:

What do you think you can add to our server ?

I think this is really good idea.

I do think that new builders should make am attempt to read through the forums (at least the stickies and rules) before they're accepted. This would help the influx of those who haven't read the important posts. Maybe instead of saying be sure to read the forums/rules when they're accepted, that question should also be included in a form like Razy mentioned.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

We're discussing this with the admins.

It seems that I'm one of the few against a questionnaire. I think they're silly and a waste of time. Sorry to put it that way! The concept just doesn't fit because we still have to trust their word, this system just prolongs that. Even if we gave them a physical exam it's not going to stop bad people from getting in. We also can't discriminate against age or grammar. Even a question like "Why are you applying to minecraft addicts?". We know what the answer will be 99% of the time and this information just isn't worth precious registration time.

I agree that the registration process should change, but no questionnaires, instead, a very simple template form to fill out with questions like "Have you read the rules? y/n", "Are you aware of land claims?" for exmaple, should do just fine.

We also can't discriminate against age or grammar.

I was also a little iffy on these questions.

The reason I liked the application idea was because of your hope; it was like a template. I really liked the idea of a basic form so we don't get any more of the "let me in p1oX" requests. This way, we know about any basic plans for their stay here, your suggestions, whether or not they have any friends here, etc.

I'm in the same boat as Jangles on this one. A form would definitely be a step in the right direction as far as standardizing builder requests.
