I liked the old world WAYYYYYY better. This was acutally a place to fight, with people TO fight. There was a shop, too.

I've been thinking about this issue since the current "season" began.

The current world is hard to explore, It's a large world with no available personal warps to get back to your journey.
Yes, there are the four portals, this is a help, but without a roving warp the world has a lot of limitations on exploration.
And this is especially true if you are also participating in build world, you can't leave war without going for a big walk to get back to your spot.

My feeling now is that MCA should just focus on build world. That is where the server shines and we have a viable community there.

I think the small pvp arena that we had might be the best solution for this. I'm sad saying this, as I love to play in a pvp survival world, and I really like factions, as they give players the opportunity to work together.

What's the point in setting up another war world if it's not going to work??
And if you want it to work, listen to people who play pvp. Please don't give us a war world designed by builders. Yuck.

I've been talking to some of the staff about ways to improve the factions world so if you guys have any ideas feel free to tell me.

I think Mk's right, maybe get rid of factions and war, and add a mini arena like earlier. That was always fun, and gear was really cheap.

I'll take an arena into account during negotiations then. Remember, an arena doesn't mean there can't be factions and vice versa.
 
If we have factions, then I'd suggest not messing with the settings. Factions works pretty good if you just leave it alone.
make /f create available, no caps on power of member numbers etc... and even then i would suggest /sethome be available in pvp.
If I went to a new server, and /sethome was not available, it would be a big factor for me.
People who like to explore the world need this warp, and also people who like to raid need this warp.

We want to create a world where we can find other bases and try to get into them right?

Also, I really prefer to have an accessible safe zone/war zone.
As in our previous world, where players can run into and out of safe zone.
This was a lot of fun in the old world.

Safe zone/war zone interface gave the players who wanted to fight a place to hang out and learn to fight.

Oh, and in my previous post I said I didn't want anymore pvp worlds created by build world types.... that may have been a bit of my jaded feelings on this issue coming out. The pvp "park" was not build by pvp'ers (that i know of) but it worked well, Kudos to Yen and co on that one....
 
I think what a really good idea would be bring back the old Spleef Arena and get rid of factions all together. Then people could just have some fun with spleefing while still getting there pvp fix ! And for the hunting and gather factor of factions... There is always PvE
 
I likeliness that /sethome will be available in factions is very low.
One of the main complaints last time was people setting a home near a base and constantly attacking. If you want to attack a base you should do it by walking to the spot and using tp's to bring your faction members if you want. You said that is how it was on another server which shows that it was probably an issue there, so why would we change that?

I've been working on a plan for weeks now but its stuck with the issue of shops. Due to having fairness between everyone from the start we can't include the caps from the build world and as there's no way we can separate it currently it is a no go.

The faction area portals will be changing and will no longer be builds from people, they will instead be generic areas just for spawn safety. We will not be adding areas that allow for people to 'border dance'. If you plan on fighting then fight properly, it also stops people spamming chat like 'old factions setup'.

As you all know we're a build server and that will always be the case. Ultimately if it doesn't work it doesn't happen. Factions is being dumbed down to stop chat spam from disturbing players in build. Whilst you could say "that is was /ignore is for" well it isn't, chat problems only came around with factions and if necessary it will be removed to prevent it.
 
If factions leaves a nice PVP style mini game with command blocks would be nice :D. Like sethbling's super smash brothers. We could have a design contest and have a tiny world for it like the PvP village before. But i dont play factions anymore so I am biased.
 
Since I am a member, and a faction witness. I would like to see some changes. What I think will get our pvp popular. Is to add thrilling games. Where the players would have to make life or death situations, and also have a little gambling. Almost like the little pvp town we had. Feelings you get, when playing pvp games. is the addicting feeling that you get when your playing a Hunger Games, and the pvp fixation it offers. The ferocious feeling and anger, that we all get when trying to get to the top of the ladder. And the victory upon killing a well ranked pvp'r. Are these the thing we need? Do we need an arena, like mk59apr, eaglejake and many worked on. Or do we just need active members?

I think, that if a reset happens. We should have a welcoming. Almost. See, Factions do not meet their enemies, and when they do, it's usually never happy. A grand opening of some sort, where we meet our competitors would be nice.


In the recent faction world. I have used to much coordinates to find things, I would like /sethome. Also, I'd like to point out, that I feel the map was very good. Yes, some bases were far, and yes maybe there were some obstacles, but finding your target is pvp. Person Vs Player, it's not Person thats trying to kill a person, and wants him to tpa to him vs player who was thinking of tpaing. No, people want challenges, and I belive we have one. Thats here.

the leader is nominated and elected as are the mods.
