I'm not sure if there's any reason not to allow builders to set warp location, but I'd really like this function. Like when I was building my DNA structure it reached the highest point in the sky and I had to /home multiple times and run back to the statue just for it to happen again.
I think allowing builders to warp would increase general productivity, with warp spots at build sites, mines, landmarks, etc. Also it could keep builders from wanting to claim large portions of land that, although make it easy to travel from one section to another, also introduce boundary conflicts and map size increases.

The reasons why it's not enabled is to prevent wondering and keep building tighter. From a community point of view it makes sense to have it.

Any other bad reasons for warp points?
 
Ah okay I was thinking warp points would tighten structures by reducing land claims but I see how it could cause people to spread farther out.
 
It could do that too I guess. Not sure what would happen, but it would only be an issue if someone took advantage of it. I'm going to work on a better ranking system. We need something between builder and member.
 
I think warp points should just be set to central areas among finished structures. Also a few unpublicized points (by request) for hard to reach places where one might want to keep their long term private storage.
 
yea, i had mxzas set up one to my workshop. might be good by request and in limited numbers. 3 per player maybe?
 
Good idea. I don't think we need a limit? If someone wants a warp point and can justify it I don't see a problem.
 
Only reason I can think of for setting a limit would be, with more warp spot, there'd be more warping, which means more lag (at least in leaking's case) :P
