Chat - Racism and Arguing

Hey everyone,

Over the last few days there has been an influx of mindless arguing and insult fests going on in chat. Though I understand that some times life gets frustrating, other people do not want to read how much better your town is then someone elses, or how someone is a " insert explicit word here". If you need to vent some anger at someone there are better ways to do it. Not only does it make you look immature but it makes the server look hostile to new players and beginners.

Also, i am not so conservative that I do not mind seeing swear words but I think racist or bigoted language should be forbidden in chat. Seeing N-bombs or Jew/Hitler references in chat is both unfunny and insulting. I am sure we have people of all nations and religions playing on our server and we should show everyone an equal amount of respect.

I agree, whenever I'm online, I do tell these people to cut it out. It's disrespectful, immature, and just straight up wrong.

This is happening?? I haven't been in-game very much over the last few days so I haven't experienced it, thankfully. I'm like alabow86, language rarely affects me, but a lot of people can get very insulted by it, and rightly so. Even if these hateful words/subjects that are being referred to, are meant in jest between friends, they should be reported, in my opinion. A public in-game chat is no place for such offensive insults, even more so since there are children who play this game too.

Edit: Also, I see this as far more serious than griefing, since it affects peoples lives in the real world.

to be honest any thing that is racist is a warning if it dosent stop its a ban. so yah see any of that just report it and we will deal with it even if its one of the staff. (screen shots are best and pm if you dont want it to be public)

in this community we let some jokes fly as long as every one is cool with it. (racist or sexist jokes are not accepted) if some one has a problem they can come to any of the admins or mods (pm) and let there thoughts be known.

we do warn people for attitude. we want this server to be a fun place to come to not a IRC channel that is full of troll's thought some times I even like to troll

pretty much it goes like this:
if every one is having fun and enjoying the jokes all good once some one gets hurt its no longer good.

I understand, and agree with this entirely.
I've noticed ALOT of arguing, and I certainly hope it stops soon enough.
It's terrible to see a good community and friendly server turn against each other over squabbles and pity fights.
I've been trying to help with a few people, asking politely to get the people to STOP fighting; it has worked a few times.. but it needs to be cut down dramatically.

Also with the racial slurs, and language.
I usually catch guests and ask them to please stop using such.
I don't mind the sexist comments but try to cut back on those too guys.
They can be pretty hurtful to girls on the server.

I do have my occasional argues, I do often troll people (its too much fun ) , and I say stuff sometimes say stuff, that might be racist to some people, though I never intend to.
I know this about myself, and I'm working on it. I will try to keep myself, and others, in anyway I can nice, and polite in the chat.

Yes i witnessed this today too, and as usual, i'm glad to see admins are on board with banning policy for these kind of occurances.
