Design of the Border minetrack railway

**Update**

Not that much progress from now thought February 17th because I am supervising at work then.

Next Post:

Progress on the digging for the border rail way. Screenshots included.

Bridge on one side of the border. This is on the only bridge. Will add support later

2011-12-30_22.57.29.jpg

Beginning of the bridge coming out of the ocean.

2011-12-30_22.57.50.jpg

One of the four turns.

2011-12-30_22.58.03.jpg

Underwater tunnel. Probably replace everything with smooth stone.

2011-12-30_22.58.48.jpg

Tunnel intersecting with caves. I did a cobblestone line for the rails but glass on the sides (same as the bridge).

2011-12-30_22.59.20.jpg

Another one of the intersections that runs into a ravine. Will decide later whether or not to leave the torches or take them out and leave it or put lava.

2011-12-30_22.59.38.jpg

Wood bridge on the tent town part. Probably will add supports and some logs and fence for some aesthetics.

2011-12-30_22.59.54.jpg

This is the place when the wood bridge goes under the river. Debating on whether or not to keep the sand.

Forgot to add this in the previous post:

Design of the railway. I will make three designs and show you them and also show the breakdown process of which one I eventually choose.

Railway Designs and Choice:

2011-12-31_11.02.08.jpg

This is what you call a control. Just a plain railway to compare to the other two. I didn't choose this one because there had to be something in the railway to make just a little busy.

2011-12-31_11.01.55.jpg

This is the Mineshaft design. I choose this one because it adds to the kingdom theme that I wanted to go for.

2011-12-31_11.03.27.jpg

This is the smooth brick stone. This is not as busy as I wanted it to be because it is smooth and flows easily. I was looking for a more rigid look in the railway.

I Choose:

**Next Post**

It will be with the wood bridge by tent town as seen a previous reply. Please don't expect it to come out today.

I am not following the Saturday, Sunday posts as said in my first post because I am off from work today and probably will get a lot done. Will continue the Saturday recap posts and Sunday what to expect posts next week. I hope you enjoy this!

Wood Bridge Designs

2011-12-31_16.30.50.jpg

This is the bridge that is near Tent Town. I made it wood just to leave a kingdom type feel and the Tent town it not the sophisticated so I didn't want to do a whole heavy and busy design so I.

2011-12-31_16.31.45.jpg

This is a small bridge over a little river that I ran into while digging. Instead of going under like a usually do I went over.

2011-12-31_16.31.40.jpg

Same bridge as previous.

Update

All the tracks have been put down. I will probably put the redstone torch underneath the powered rail and then put a wood plank on it and then put the rail on the wood plank.

**Donations**

Thank you to Kn0wn11 for donating some powered rail! That is greatly appreciated!

**Next Post**

Will be in a while unfortunately. I am busy at work until mid-February. Little to possibly no work then. Will post on Sunday for an update though. Thanks for following my build! Happy New Year to all!

Busy at work... just wanted to say that this is my 100th post!

Well, I am looking for a name for all the cities and a better name for the Kingdom itself. PM me if you have any ideas. Thanks!

The Bridge over the Ocean Design:

I went for a arch every 8 blocks because I put a powered rail every 8 blocks.

This is the view coming out from the water:

View from the inside of the arch:

Will be the 100% Completed version of the border rail. A little ahead of schedule. :)

Thanks for following!

Bridge is Complete!!

Looking down through the posts:

2012-01-22_09.50.39.jpg

Looks straight down side 1:

2012-01-22_09.50.54.jpg

Looking up on one of the hills that the mine track goes up:

2012-01-22_09.51.23.jpg

One of the times where the track is above ground. Seems like every animal is attracted to tracks so I made a fence:

Looking straight down side 2:

2012-01-22_09.52.44.jpg

Yet again side 2:

Under the river:

Looking down at turn 3 right over a ravine. My favorite:

2012-01-22_09.54.25.jpg

Straight down side 3:

- No side 4 because it is the bridge that I already posted.

**Next Post**

Will be Tent City! Finally Building Begins! I will make the train stop and all the tents for my next post! Looks like we are ahead of schedule.

- For those who want to ride just /msg when I am online.

Thanks for all the support! We are at over 200 views!

**UPDATE**

Tent City is almost complete! I have made the tents and one very large tent. I have intertwined some farmland and made it a farming village as well.

The train stop is working. I have made an awning over the stop. You can hit a button to either go forward of go to tent city.

I also want to make it as realistic as possible so there is a sewage drain and a sewage line for every thing of water.

I will post more screenshots of everything probably soon. Thanks for the support!

Screenshots and screenshots.

Note: About 75% Complete

The incomplete train stop:

The largest tent in Tent city. Kind of like a town hall:

2012-01-25_16.40.10.jpg

A view of all 11 (I may be wrong) tents:

2012-01-25_16.40.21.jpg

Look at a sewage drain connection between all the water sources in the farm. Will make a deeper better one that is darker and has redstone torches. The deeper sewage line will connect all the cities:

2012-01-25_16.40.46.jpg

Closer view of the tents. I tried to make a fire place but fire is disabled in build. I have to rework the lava thing though:

2012-01-25_16.41.02.jpg

Another view of some of the tents. I made a table in the middle. Still need to re-work that and look at the remains of a chicken swimming in the lava thing that I need to remake because it looks terrible:

2012-01-25_16.41.12.jpg

**Next Post**

Complete Tent City with an actual name :). I am a month ahead of schedule it looks like. Thanks for all the support guys.

**Update**

As February is arriving I believe that I would something else to the kingdom. I am going to make a gigantic tree. The big trees a pretty popular so I thought I may go for one. I will begin construction after the sewage system is set and running in tent city. Still need to figure out a location probably will be combined with the Lumber City.

**Update**

I am going to wait until the jungle tree saplings come out before I start the tree and since it is a jungle tree I am going to put it near the tent city.

**UPDATE**

So I took a break from taking a break and decided to work on the train station at Capitol City (Still looking for a better name). So this is the very disgusting entrance but I had to do something just to go off of. I also made the front wall. I am using brick and sandstone to see how it works. There is always time to change it.

2012-02-24_18.19.11.jpg

The terrible entrance yet again:

2012-02-24_18.19.15.jpg

Working on the floor design for the lobby:

2012-02-24_18.19.21.jpg

I outlined the area for the information desk at the train station:

2012-02-24_18.19.25.jpg

I added some glass to show the large strip mine underneath:

2012-02-24_18.19.33.jpg

The grass area is where the actual mine carts will be:

2012-02-24_18.19.42.jpg

Thought I would show the mine. I am thinking of making some underground park/garden there:

2012-02-24_18.19.51.jpg

**Next Time**

Finished tent city. Little behind schedule so I have to start the next town soon. Thanks for the support!

I'm back from long hours at work and have everything situated for a while now will go back to regular posts.

**Update**

Made a new design for the buildings in Capitol City. I dropped the sandstone brick idea as those two did not contrast well.

The new design: Decided to use iron doors and some redstone that will be connected to one lever in the information booth inside. The inside has not been made but that is the new design:

2012-02-25_11.19.02.jpg

Another picture:

**Next Post**

The actual train station walls and roof should be done.

Thanks for the support!

Updates and Names

New List of Towns with names:

Kingdom Plan.jpg

The area in Black: Those are the tent areas. There are two areas as one is going to be blue tents and the other red tents. The name of both of them is Kargeth. Each one of the two may have a specific name later.

The area in Grey: That looks small but it behind a mountain and mainly in a big ravine underground but that is the miners community now called Oreville.

The area in Dark Red: That is on the top of very lard mountain. That is where some very nice mansions will be and that is where Wayward will be.

The area in Red: That is the side of the mountain. It seems cool to have some buildings and add some supports to them so that small town will be called Leeward.

The area in Orange: That is an island that I thought would be cool to make my house on. So that island is called Eleanor Island.

The area in Turquoise: That is where the shipping town/hub will be. There will 3 boats and 3 docks (makes sense?). That area is called Beringia.

The area in Indigo: That is where the lumberjack village is going to be and that area will now be known as Pinecrest.

The area in Yellow: That is where capitol city is going to be. All the information about this was posted previously. This city will be called Pasadena.

The area in Green: That is where a house with a lighthouse is going to be made. That little land mass is called Duxbury.

Thank you all for your support! More updates to come soon!

Work...Work...Work... Haven't done much Minecraft due to ridiculous work hours. Am very behind schedule and will catch up sooner of later. Expect some screenshots of Oreville soon.

Due to the size of this project and amount of time I need to show up for work, I have finally decided to end this. Close this thread if yo want. Thanks for the support all of you.
