Follow My Build: Parliament Hill

The Idea:

To recreate Canada's Parliament Hill on a large claim in North-West Downtown. I want to create the four main buildings, as well as the green space.

The Plan: (ETA 18 Months)

Part 1: (ETA 6 Months)
- Level the top central block which the central building, peace tower, and library will sit upon
- Determine ground level vs cloud level (peace tower is highest point - library peak is second)
- Map out buildings to scale on the ground
- Construct buildings

Part 2: (ETA 4 Months)
- Level the east block land
- Map out building to scale
- Construct building

Part 3: (ETA 4 Months)
- Level the west block land
- Map out building to scale
- Construct building

Part 4: (ETA 2 Months)
- Level the green space
- Place out walkways to scale
- Beg and Plea to have fire placed for the "Eternal Flame"

Part 5: (ETA 2 Months)
- Level the ground surrounding the buildings and rest of claim
- Expand waterways to replicate Ottawa
- Finish surrounding walkways

Part 6: (ETA TBD)
- Examine possibility of constructing a highway along the North and West borders of Downtown
- Plan and build additional project

Just a quick update...

~ I am still working on this project daily
~ Due to height restraints I'm currently excavating down to a depth of -23 to allow for taller buildings

~ I'm also playing around with the idea of constructing a town or castle (possibly Solitude) from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
-instead of parliament, which is too rich in detail to capture its architecture

What a silly idea... I've gone back to the water-level and have continued to level the mid-section for central parliament and library. I will begin construction of the central building after christmas holidays, as I'll be in Calgary for a week.

I'll be doing a skyrim build in the New World ~ Rivers Region. I've chosen to do Markarth with Understone Keep. Once that project is underway, I will create a Follow My Build: Markarth, Skyrim

Here is a shot of the cleared lands for building parliament. I will start with the base of the peace tower and work out from there.
