Hello out there is it safe to play?

My Past minecraft experience:

So I had been playing for a while on a server.
It dint have any control or rules and found myself griefed to high heavens.
It was a interesting battle but over all a none creative one.
I felt like there was no real point in making any real effort in anything I would do.


The moment I stopped playing minecraft:

After months of playing on this server.
I thought, I should walk 2 hrs away from the spawn point.
That way I would be safe from griefers.
And started a project
I had spent 20 hrs straight on a full 3d scull with lava flowing behind the eyes and out of the mouth using the full height of the world. A massive undertaking.

The server had reset.
Took away all my work.
I felt like if the server could take away all that work then whats the point and stopped.

I understood the reason.
There was a glitch that's someone had introduced.
The server admin had to reset.
It was just the final nail in the coffin.


The reason I'm interested in playing again:

At the time, I found this server looking at a list of Canadian servers.
(not sure if it still is)
It had just started and there was only a simple path with some torches.
Not many people had been logging in.
But over all seemed like there was a better grasp of the needs of the players and how to make a great server for minecraft.

After a while it seems I was right coming back to this server looks like a lot has changed and many rules and control systems have been put into place.

I will slowly try to trust again and hope to make this server a place to create and have fun.

Hey lofp! You've come to the right place.

I can imagine many new servers, and servers still being created today simply won't last long. With today's technology and peoples knowledge it's not hard to create a minecraft "server". I'm all for people starting up their own server but most don't understand it takes more then an install to run a good server. That sucks you lost you're work on the other server, but there's no excuse for that admin to not have a working map backup to restore.

This server's in Canada, Toronto specifically. And it's at one of the most respected network providers in the world. I would have gone with something more standard but I really wanted Canada to have a good minecraft server, the best minecraft server.

As for all that work lost, on that other server, that's part of the risk with minecraft
It is still in alpha just dint expect it to be deleted the day after all that work.
