After I'd finished about half of the ranch, I thought, "I shoulda done this from the start." I didn't see the point if it wasn't started when I first joined MCA. Now I'm thinking it would still be nice to have a record of progress since there is still so much to do, even if it's just for my own interest. Now i'm starting work on a large area of land, making an entire estate: large mansion, grounds with security gate or water-only access, tennis court, pool, gardens, small horse stables, and anything else I can think of, have room for. the land I reserved for this is about 1/2 of a small rectangular plot. And it is mostly swamp so I drained the water and mined the clay, and now am working on filling it all in to be mostly level at Y coord of 62. as you can see from the pic below of Live Map, this process will take a while:

I discovered the use of glass panes instead of an opaque block better facilitates the removal of lava around obsidian. you can more easily see all of the lava.2015-12-14_05.53.01.jpg
 
Now I am working on a new warehouse, based on the Syfy Channel's show Warehouse 13.
