Here's the scoop. We have been very busy working with the new Craftbukkit RB (733) and have been making great progress toward a possible 1.5 release for the server (just in time for 1.6, hooray!).
One of the steps involved in migrating from one version to the next is the fun task of dealing with all of the plugin updates. One of our plugins keeps a database FULL of information (almost 5 million records). Everything you can possibly think of is in that database. At this very moment, that database is being converted by the new version of that plugin and is going record, by record, by record, through each of the players that have ever connected to the server.
Here's the contest:
I will give 500 of my very own caps to the person who can guess closest to the total number of players in the database (without going over, of course). CptCarnage has also donated 250 caps, BedrockBlaster82 has donated 250 caps, and astraeasan has donated 500 caps to sweeten the pot! IF someone hits the number ON THE NOSE, I will give them 2500.
Post your guesses in this thread - the conversion is going to take a long time, so I probably won't have the result until the morning. With that, I will accept 1 guess per player (edits accepted) until 12:00PM EST on Friday, April 29th.

Congratulations to Jordan5_0 - he wins 1500 caps with the very first guess of the contest (3300). The actual total was 3742!
Honorable mention to Lukester247, who barely missed with a guess of 3,791.
