Minecraft wont connect (even not on multiplayer)

I'm using the download version of minecraft and i cant connect. It says "cant connect to minecraft.net. This isnt a problem with the Minecraft addicts server, so move this post if its in the wrong section. Does anyone know why i cant connect to minecraft. Also, in my browser i cant go on minecraft.net, the connection takes too long to respond. im pretty sure its not my internet thats the problem because i have a fiber optic 25 Mbps connection. I'm guessing that the minecraft.net server is overloaded. Does anyone know whats happening?

The minecraft.net server went down its nothing to worry about you just have to wait a while for it to come back online

If you're having issues logging in, check www.minecraft.net. It will likely be down too. Notch's problem.

thanks for the answers, but still cant connect. Also, i cant go on the multiplayer because it needs to load multiplayer.jsp from the minecraft site

I'm going to close this tread. We all know minecraft.net login has notch specific issues and there's nothing we can do about it.
