Opening a REALLY old world

I was sorting some files on my computer and I came across an old minecraft world of mine. The last time I played it was 1/18/2011 and its still in the pre-MCRegion format. Unfortunately, I can't get Minecraft to pickup the world by just placing it in the minecraft folder, due to its format. Any ideas on how to convert it to anvil? I tried using MCEdit, but it just crashes when I try to open it.
 
MC Nostaglia. Go back to the version that introduced .mcr format, then convert the world. Then you should be able to go to Anvil

That worked, thanks. Funny, the stuff in that world seemed a lot cooler back then.
