If you dont know by now our server is rented at a high tech facility called Peer1. ServerBeach is a Peer1 company that offeres specialized services, such as unmanaged dedicated hosting, that our Minecraft server is using.

Today I had a tour of their new, massive, datacentre in Toronto. There's a 1 in 6 chance I saw our 1U server. lol. The facility is maximum security. It's at an unmarked location. I had an adress but no clue where it was, no numbers. One wearhouse type place with strange fences around had to be the place. I asked a guy in the parking lot and he didn't want to give me any information at all, good for him, this was the place. I rang the doorbell on a heavy door and my account rep let me in. He was visiting from texas and invited me to a event which included a tour. I learned all about the OIDMTC... and if you're a Canadian web entrepeneur check that out, government grants for making websites. There were only about 10 of us there and after the meeting we all put on our dust free shoes and had the tour.

If someone wants to take hammer to our Minecraft server, no chance. Just blow the building up instead. We were all weighed in and out through a machine that looked like a gas chamber and is apparently getting sent to the penthouse so they can "take a look" at it. Yay Canada! Biometric scanners and networks of security cameras also help keep bad people away.

Peer1 is in the top 5 for worlds best hosting companies. I also found out the host all of EA games servers.

If you're ever interesting in using them for yourself, let me know and I'll get you a better deal!
