Server keeps crashing and lagging?

I've not been on the server as much as I used to, but even I have noticed the server is crashing/lagging a lot lately.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who's been getting disconnected a lot recently and I'm wondering if anyone has any idea as to why this is happening?

I mean, as I'm writing this, the server has been down for a few hours according to the players list thing (checked just now and about 2 hours before). If this is due to that ShowcaseStandalone plugin I think something seriously needs to be done about it.

The server is currently running, a few things have been temporarily disabled.
These include:
- Website player list
- PvP world
- Shops

Lol i think people are seeing "Server Offline" on the site and not trying to log in now. The server is dead which is unusual. The crashes were happening when high volumes of players were in the PvP world.

ok so this answers my question on why it didn't say anyone was on. i just got home and am opening minecraft to see if the server was up
