I've been keeping my host very busy as they've been upgrading our server for the past few months. A little history, We first upgraded from an intel Atom 1.6ghz 2gb ram to an Intel E8400 3.0ghz duo core 4gb ram. Then upgraded to 8gb ram.
This is no little RAM upgrade. The server is being rebuilt with new hardware and everything will be migrated (no downtime because DNS is my friend, laugh from the IT guys? no? ok).
What's in the rack?!
1U - SC813T-520CB Chassis
250 GB 7200 3 Gb/s 3.5 inch SATA
8 GB (X8SIE-F)
Intel Xeon X3450 2.66 GHz Quad-Core 8 Threads (w/HT)
Windows 2008 Server Standard Edition 64-bit
X8SIE-F Motherboard
This is my personal unmanaged dedicated minecraft only server hosted at the Peer1 datacentre in their Toronto location. There are no managed portals or fancy hosting tools that get in the way. Just a rack, some hardware, and a serious piece of ethernet which is the majority of the server cost.
Please feel free to donate and I'll be running donation campaigns at the end of every month. I'll also be advertising on the website to help server and maintenance costs. This is a significant upgrade required to run the best minecraft server and will now costs hundreds of dollars to run every month, not inlcluding the volunteer work that makes everything happen. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
