Slightly annoying thing with 1.3 update

I was looking at the updates section of the wiki and i noticed that in 1.3 (SMP only), you can no longer click-mine. This will make mining blocks slower, which kind of sucks. O well...
 
I wonder why they decided to go that route? Not only is click-mining more efficient, it's more FUN!
 
Instead of holding the mouse button down, timing your click/release is roughly 25% faster.
 
it becomes habit when you do it, but with having gold tools being indestructible im fine without it, gold tools are faster than click mining with a diamond tool

but click mining with gold tools is even faster.
And gold tools without click mining is not faster than diamond with click mining (on dirt and stone at least)
