Much like many of the people on here, This was my first server i joined.. i believe i was flipping through servers to find something that had a blend of build and PVP and i found this. So, being the little scamp i was, i jumped on in and joined. I set up my first house and farm within 2 hours of getting a claim, and it was the first building i had ever built in minecraft.

after that, i made the mistake of trying to build a mountain, but i got bored and stopped (thus the big ugly dirt pile on my historic claim)

After a long while of gathering up materials in my spare time, i built my agra tower (it had different crops on every floor and was totally awesome.) While i was building it, a lot of people came over one night to see it (a lot of those players sadly no longer play on the server) soon after came a big temple (that was basically a glorified square because i didn't know any better)
...
But i'm sure you didn't come to read this to hear me talk about my builds and noob days.

Moving on, When factions was implemented, I was ready and rearing to get into a fight with some of my friends on the server, so i payed my 10 bucks and made a faction known as "NCR" (in keeping with the server tradition of using caps and other fallout references)
When i created the faction, i expected.. maybe 7 people to join. but more on that later.
Being a noob to the whole factions processes, i had no idea how to run a faction and just left it open, and let everyone grief it without knowing. (Little did i know that some of the best generals i would get would come out of that little ordeal)

So, after a brief period of butthurtedness, i swore revenge on well.. TA mostly, and as such, i knew i needed troops, so i started an add campaign to try and drive up enlistment. I had NO IDEA that over 40 people would join at one point and to be honest, i knew i wouldn't be able to do everyone any sort of service, because i couldn't be on all the time to keep an eye on everyone.
So, to counteract that, i put assaultcommand and refined(yeah, i'm surprised that he joined as well) In command, and things were good, we had a (semi)functional army with a (fairly low)presence in the area.

we set up way awesome bases and became the center of conversation for a while (man was that a sweet time) we were involved in the only large scale battle in server history, in which over 20 NCR troops fought against 8 TA members and around 8 from another small faction (it was a three way, it was a way awesome battle)

everything was fine when Factions started, and everything got slowly worse the minute the first changes were made.

With a war going on, the server economy was really booming, people were selling materials and buying new ones to keep up the fight, people were entering the server at a fever pace just to get a peace of the actions, but again. I didn't and couldn't see why things would change and kept going with the whole factions thing, because it was awesome.

after things changed (the 2 world inventories, and the like) I became less enthausastic, because i wondered: "why would the staff change something that kept people coming back, and kept the serve economy booming and let people use their hard earned IRON, DIAMOND and leather for something other than selling."

I kept playing a little disheartened that the staff just started to make Unilateral decisions without actually consulting the people who had payed for the service.

eventually, i had other commitments that dragged me away from my computer for months at a time (Military College inquiries, debate, model UN, school council, ect.) And i returned one frosty morning to see that things pretty well fell apart. Oh well. But, The idea of large scale warfare and large scale battles is what drew me to the idea of bringing everything back together into 4 large factions, instead of 12+ small factions. It's what kept me coming back to the server.

I really enjoyed playing here, i really enjoyed building with you guys.
But i couldn't stand who a lot of the time, staff would be making decisions, and wouldn't have to live with them because the weren't really involved in the aspect of gameplay they were changing.

It also seemed, that they were slowly beginning to ignore the mass, for the voices of a selected few noobs. I saw it as members of staff selling out the veterans, just so noobs could have an easier time in PVP and the like.

So, i took my fun to PVE, planting bombs, grieving houses and having a jolly good time. But the fun police decided to crack down on that too.
And with the removal of TNT, lava and other fun things from PVE i was beginning to wonder why we even have mobs, i mean, There was no real place to use the materials you got from PVE's MOBS, and no way to set buildings and other things alight.

So.. being the bored fellow that i was, built an automated city (i think the shop still functions to this day) and decided to build a huge water tower in PVE, because it wasn't against the rules and it was a fun thing to do on a boring afternoon.

and apparently alien didn't like that and banned me (i'm still banned to this day).
Where a rule says i cannot build a water tower in PVE is beyond me.

But at any rate, there is what MCA meant to me, a fun place to mess around and make some internet buddies.
In my opinion, what started to make things less fun was the removal of freedom. It slowly became more about staff making unilateral decisions, and less about people voting and debating things like a democracy.

I still had fun.. but man, i miss the days where i could mess around and have a good time. Maybe one day i'll be allowed back in, maybe not. But it was fun at any rate, and met some really cool people on here.

thanks for your time, brochacho's

That's one of your main mistakes, and I warned you several times about it beforehand.
