This is called block lag, and has to do with the server itself. A reboot usually helps.

You should ask lofp to change your forum name to match your minecraft name.

This tends to happen when someone logs off the server. There will be like 3 - 4 block lag. So when people log off, just stop mining for like 2 seconds.

Bukkit has a few problems at the moment.
Hopefully it's fixed for 1.7

It is hard for them to get rid of the problems with bukkit when a new Minecraft comes out every 2-4 weeks. When notch gets Minecraft out of beta, most likely bukkit will become more stable.

Actually the block lag has only really been a problem in 1.6, the disconnect lag has been a problem for a little longer (since 1.2 if i remember correctly) Just goes to show that it's not just because there's a new version of Minecraft every 2 - 4 weeks.

static did a server restart, and i wasn't getting any lag after that until a bit later...
i think there should be automatic restarts, its better than getting angry at block lag

Ya an auto restart every so often would be good. Maybe every other day.

I think once every 24 hours is a good time for server restarts. Preferably right before i get on at night :P
