At the risk of sounding boring, I wanted to throw out a suggestion and an idea for everybody.... I recently started constructing a nearly full-scale IKEA furniture store, which is obviously based on the real thing. That's when it hit me: why not make a bunch more builds of the things we see in everyday life? I mean, it may seem boring to some people, but replicating real things is often satisfying and challenging work.

So here comes the suggestion: Why don't we start building replicas of real-life objects in Uptown, where I live? I have a city called Darsha there, and that's where I'm building my IKEA. I would like to see more people join me and replicate things we may pass by uninterested every day.

Anyway, just a thought. Ideas, feedback, suggestions?

Well. Ive always felt like a BigMac at times while mining. :D

I think it is a top idea.

I'm up for a challenge. There is a lot of iconic modern buildings out there. Maybe grouping them together will make them more interesting.

Maybe grouping them together will make them more interesting.

That was what I was thinking. Examples: The Green Mountain Home by Frank Lloyd Wright. A masterpiece of abstract modernism. But a lot of MCers won't build it because of the level of detail it would require, even down to the mountain and gardens its built on.

Things I've been thinking of building include:
>> Home Depot (a US chain)
>> A McDonalds/BurgerKing/In-N-Out/Smashburger
>> A college campus

The college campus is something I definitely want to do, but it would be a massive full-scale build. Fortunately, the university I go to has floor plans and elevations that I can get my hands on, and since I go there, getting reference images and dimensions is easy. So I might give that a try once my IKEA is finished.

Grand idea Crotch, college campus would be challenging but amazing in the end.

I moved the video that was here before to Miscellaneous because it does not present works on the Minecraft Addicts server, and thus does not belong either in this thread or this forum. You can find it under Minecraft Builds Video under Miscellaneous.

it would be SOOO entertining and go START THE CAR! over and over again. If youve seen the IKEA ads, ud understand.
