What's the best web browser for Minecraft?

I am always getting issues loading minecraft on internet explorer I get the 504 Gateway Time-out error. Anyone know how to fix this?
 
Use the launcher the browser sucks for playing its very slow and you can't use mods/texturepacks

Sure you can. Minecraft installs on your computer and creates the same folders in Appdata. In fact, after you install with the browser or the launcher, you can access the same worlds and texturepacks on either version.
 
use the download version. If you dont want to, get firefox. Its better than IE for everything (minecraft included)

some one was having issues installing a mod using the browser thats why i thought that
 
I need to figure out a way to warn everyone when minecraft goes down. My server is not down, the login authentication server that Notch runs is down. Nothing we can do. That gateway error will go away when minecraft.net works again.
