PvE - FACTIONS

So the PvE experiment brought up some ideas.
The primary one was a PvE faction world.

Here's how it would work:

Non-PvP factions can claim land with the amount of power that the faction has, just like WAR. Factions don't need to be approved of in the forums.

Just like WAR, the faction losses power when members are offline, thus allowing factions to overtake others rightfully and allowing "civilized griefing".

Land would be protected when owned by a faction. People can still use the land for resources.

This allows for a survival community that shows the best of both worlds: Resource galore and grief-free ability in a survival world.

The PvE community is how this idea came about. People could build villages much like the one we made, but without the worry of being griefed. Non-faction protected buildings can be griefed, and the fault of that would be the builder who could easier /sethome for his faction.

So basically, this is PvE FACTIONS Survival. PvP free. Complaint free (for the most part ;) ).

Please weigh in your ideas/suggestions/thoughts on the subject. This could be an entirely new way of experiencing PvE on Minecraft Addicts, and legitimate feedback would be sweet.

Thanks!

I don't really like this idea, because it kinda ruins PvE's vanilla minecraft feel. Also, with factions in PvE, the amount of noobs would make it impossible to do anything, because all of the world would be claimed.

claiming land still costs caps so noobs can't claim endlessly.
and its still vanilla minecraft without griefing

Exactly what king said. Noobs don't have that much money. And nothing about the vanilla feeling is gone.

I think it might be better if a new world is created with PVE factions, and let us keep the normal PVE. Just to ensure that there is a place to gather resources if, on the off-chance, that all/most of the land is claimed. I think it might be better if you had to claim plots like in build, rather than have to pay, but you only get more land once you've filled all your other land.

Those are my suggestions. It's an excellent idea which will undoubtedly succeed in bringing new players to MCA and spread the community between the worlds better. I think what might also work well is if people could claim 'properties' within each city to build on, and they can't destroy anything else (but can open unlocked chests). I'm just throwing ideas around.

Maybe also have a physical shop near the spawn. Also just a suggestion.

Pve is mainly for noobs who want to build, and for veterans to get recoourcous. If its claimed, they can't do that. I also 1 faction world is enough.

Striker, it'd be impossible to claim all if it. And the reason you can claim is to build with friends, so not everyone is claiming.

Also, 2 worlds isn't a bad idea.

I think the point of factions taking up too much land is not valid
these maps are enormous, there will still be tons of resources unclaimed, just like war world
I'm in favour of factions in PvE, provided it's set up to reflect the non-pvp nature of the world.

greifing with creepers and tnt could still be possible.

I don't see why not, people can learn new ways to adapt to building in environments where they need to guard stuff. Learn how to guard from explosions, etc.

And yeah, the world is much to big to be overclaimed; also, like I stated earlier, noobs that come for a day and then leave would lose their power from being AFK for too long. So it could be easy to overclaim their land.

everyone would need to realize that thier land is temporary.
build your base, move stuff to build world, etc, then reset the world and build bases again.

I wish there would be more resets in war and pve...

I agree. It'd be fun building new base-designs every so often.

If the factions idea goes through, I'll be trying to round up builders to make a new town. (With obsidian walls, of course ;) )

Im all for it. I was in the pve town. We all had alot of fun, and it would have been even better if no one could have griefed it. I think this is a great idea.

I think we should be able to claim land in PvE but it would be like your own town.

You add people and you build make resources.

It could be too much like build to change PvE but it would have to have differences like maybe a limit to how much land you can claim and you wuoldn't be able to do big builds the too.

I haven't read everyones posts so im not sure if it is like what you have suggested or not.

Boomy, that's exactly what we just said...

Factions PvE. Invite people. Boot people. Etc.

I think that towny could be added to PvE. It'd give noobs a safe place to live, and it would work better than factions, seeing as theres no killing in PvE. But keep factions in War.

Adding another plugin wouldn't be good, especially when we have one that does essentially the same thing.
