I have obtained a small plot at S15,E1 and created a new community project, called World Bank. Although it is mainly for the benefit of new players on our server, everyone is welcome to use it.

The goal of the project is to build a large bank filled with safety deposit boxes that can be assigned to any player requesting one, giving them a safe place to store their items without fear of losing them due to raiding or dying in the Survival world (PvE). (There will also be a set of 'donation' chests for the general benefit of the MCA community, as well as access to the mines below the plot for safer digging than can be found in PvE.)

The project will work by first building the bank (a huge, multi-level building that will cover the entire plot, divided into small rooms just large enough to each hold 4 double-chests), then granting plot permission (perms) to all players who request it (mainly new players that join the server) and assigning them their own personal vault. (Although griefing in the Build world will get you banned, some griefing may occur anyway; however, chests cannot be griefed and will stay secure.) Also, since players will have perms for the plot, they will be able to dig in the mines below the plot without fear of the mobs found in PvE. (*Note: Although players will be allowed to dig, no builds besides the bank itself will be allowed anywhere on this plot.)

This is a community project, not a personal one, so volunteers to help build are gratefully welcomed - please contact me (WECole) in game or reply to this post to volunteer. Also, donations of cobblestone, stone, sandstone, wood or chests (or caps to purchase these materials) are gratefully accepted - please contact me (WECole) in game to arrange pick-up or you can drop off your donation on-site (S15,E1 - Oceania region) in one of the donation chests. (Cobblestone is the most needed material.)

Bravo, WECole!
I will gladly donate time and materials for this.

The World Bank build is going well, thanks to a lot of help from everyone.

Something interesting has developed though - I guess I designed it a little too well because we have an excess of room. I originally thought to build the bank with 5 levels of vaults, plus hallways, stairs and a large lobby. I've done the basic layout of the first level and realize we'll have something like 500-600 vaults per level! I can't imagine we'd need more than one level's worth, much less 5, so I've decided to only build two levels of vaults instead. (Plus, we can build downward if for some unusual reason we need more levels.) The outer shell of the building is more than half done so I don't want to change the structure's size... but what do we do with all the extra room?

Turning the extra area into office space was suggested, but my thought is that once a player builds their 'office', they'll probably never visit it again, so this idea isn't very appealing to me. One idea that I rather liked was to turn the remaining space into a museum/school to showcase unusual or clever builds; for example, a room showcasing different ways of building chairs, tables, etc, another room showing how to build simple redstone devices like auto-opening doors and rooms that light up when you walk in, or another room showcasing different styles of kitchens, etc, etc. If there was enough support for the idea, there is even room to build complete (but small) houses in the upper level to showcase a complete building style.

a redstone section would be a great idea.
I would volunteer to do some doors or noteblocks
