Would a flat creative world be beneficial to those who want to build things and test them or would it be just an extra hassle to deal with?

For instance: I have a creative plot that I was originally using to build a rollercoaster through a mountain, but then I wanted to build something completely unrelated and didn't want to hop offline to singleplayer to do it. Now, on my rollercoaster plot, up in the sky, I have half an arena, a giant snowflake thing, and other random test builds. That's detracting from my rollercoaster idea but I had nowhere else on the server to build these things and didn't want to ask for a second creative plot since my rollercoaster wasn't done.

Would having a superflat world just for things like that be worth doing or is the current Creative world enough?

Well....it's not TOO much of a pain to fire up the ol' single player and make a blank slate to tinker with in Creative mode. But for online Minecraft servers, I've found that a super flat world looks like a vast boring plane that is occasionally littered with junk. Even if the builder is extremely active about filling every nook, beyond the edge of his (or her!) build is heart breaking to look at. I also believe that MC's plot selection process is half the battle of getting new addicts...I chose my plot simply because I like green trees and blue water - part of the escapism of Minecraft I guess and probably why I stuck around as I have. But as for another place to experiment - maybe a mini-world that has no grief protections like PvE but also has creative mode enabled? Maybe it would also get occasionally wiped clean as PvE would? Hurrmm.....

I agree, but players will most likely use the superflat world as a testing area, only going onto it for short periods of time, meaning that aesthetics really isn't very important.

A couple things to consider maybe:

-Reset the flat world after a set amount of days/weeks/months

-Don't put plots, make it free build but active greifing should still be punished (ie I'm in the middle of making a small wall design but have to log off for a day or so and x player decides it should go, not cool)

-Animals?

Why not do a smaller sub world off of the current creative world rather than getting rid of all the builds that are currently there. Have it be, lets say, 1kx1k. As well we could make it free build similar to what coolio is saying, while having it reset every 3-6 months.

What's with all the manga girls for bio pics? Can I play too?
