All announced at minecon!

Found some more stuff on the Minecraft wiki

http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Redstone_Update

I'm also pretty excited for more mine cart stuff, I've been waiting for an update to it for a long time. The wiki also says there is a possibility of mine cart linking.

Ya and finally some usefulness to the minecart chests being able to unload and load items like in tekkit.

Also being able to measure signal strength of redstone would open up a whole other dimension of posibilities, entire binary decoders could be replaced with a few capacitor blocks!

Other then all the minecon stuff and the wiki I haven't seen anything more, can't wait though :D

Thing is, they cant break existing redstone circuits if they do it will mess up ALOT of peoples stuff.

Also with this update they will be moving a lot of the client side calculations to the server, to make the clients run smoother, and put the load on the server . I wonder if that would cause any server lag.

I don't like the sound of the part where it says that "every block will have its own texture file." Honestly, that sounds like a crapload of work for texturepack makers to update their packs.

I guaruntee somone will make a program to convert old texture packs. It wouldnt be hard at all.

Do you think it would break existing (everyday) stuff?

Like if the signal is weaker, does the pistons move slower?

I would hope mojang would have a bit of common sense in that manner. But that sounds like something they would try lol. It would be cool if they could do that with somehow preserving legacy redstone wire. Maybe even that new "nether ore" could be a different type of analog redstone.
