1.8, when it comes out...

I recently watched a video on my IGN app, and saw a video of a commentary by notch, showing off the 1.8 update.

And at the end if the vid, he says 1.8 is going to come out in a couple of WEEKS. it is being split up, and the later parts gonna be 1.9.

First off, I predict we will not have as many members
Going on and off the server. They would have updated to 1.8. Only the dedicated members would not update, or at least have a 1.7 .jar with them.

But what I'm concerned with is... It's a HUGE update. LOTS of changes. Will this increase the time we ll have to wait for it? At least well have working pistons after that. I'm also concerned with the endermen. They are classified as neutral. Until u look at them. So will it be the same case as the wolves? Please reply with an answer so anyone else with this question has an answer! And thank you.

No one said we would have working pistons after we update to 1.8. The server can intoduce piston only when the dupe bug is fixed. Enderman wont spawn in the creative area due to world guared. Even if it doesnt, stopping the spawning of a mob is as simple as putting "true or false" in the essentisals config file in the respective area.

Time speculation is pointless, we will not update until all of our plugins update to the new version.

This is the same procedure as before. We cry until there's a stable update that works with our existing structure. Once everything's stable, we look at the new stuff.

Wow, that's a lot of really good information there. I'll write up a summary for the site.

Basically, 1.8 is a major overhaul, and a very big step toward release.

Key things I found:
- Existing world still works but new features are in new chunks only. This is probably on everyone's mind so I'll let you in on some info. One, the current map will never be reset or taken down, two, a new creative world is coming on release date. Save your questions.
- Lighting overhaul. This should make night playable.
- Experience orbs for killing mobs. COOL

Boo. MineCraft addicts should do their best to keep updated.
As a lot of players like the game MineCraft and always appreciate new items/blocks/challenges.

It's not our fault. You wanna yell at somebody? Yell at the bukkit staff. It takes them time for them to make the code, and if 1.8 will be a series of updates, they are really going to be busy. So it's not our fault, u want to play without all the protecting/ fun enhancrment plugins? Just copy your .jar before u update and when u wanna play on a server, use that .jar.

If you value the community of Minecraft server modders and their ability to freely pump hundreds of hours into code for YOUR enjoyment, I wouldn't suggest yelling at the CraftBukkit crew.

I didn't mean to actually yell at them , I was saying don't blame us for slow updates. If we could get instant updates , with our plugins in, we could. But we can't. So start building in your waiting time. You be building a lot.
