A typical minecraft update...
First we get a teaser from Notch, prepping the universe for an upcoming update. A mysterious update appears within the following days stating numerous bugs have been fixed! Hey0 notices Notch's update and patches his invaluable mod stating it is compatible with Notch's latest release! WorldGuard, Cuboid, and other invaulable mods notices Hey0's update and patches their mods stating it is compatible! I backup, install updates, count my blessings, and restore the server. Bugs are reported immediately.
Notch releases a quick fix (new server client) to repair bugs. Hey0 fixes his own bugs, and again requires patching to make it compatible with the latest server. Poor WorldGuard and Cuboid had known about the bugs all along but had to wait for Hey0 that had to wait for Notch so he they could make their mods compatible. I backup, update, and restore again.
Throughout the next days, Hey0 and other mod developers patch bugs as problems are reported and minecraft server admins world wide hit F5 on several open browser windows each loaded with a plugin download page desperately waiting for an update. Repeat weekly. If I'm bald by the end of beta I wouldn't be surprised. Thanks for putting up reboots and lost inventory and I appreciate your patience.
But I love minecraft...
