Add quartz or quartz blocks to shop?

hmmmm, idk, it's cool to have some rare stuff that you can't get in the shop.

nether will reset soon and the server will get a fresh blast of quartz.

on the other hand, quartz is one of the best materials for building quality stuff, and this is a build server. So also makes sense to have it for sale....

If it does get added, I think it would want to be more expensive due to its difficulty in harvesting. Perhaps around the price that people sell it for on the server plus a little? How much of it do you actually need Cheezy? And yes I do know harvesting it is a pain.

I'd say I need a fair amount, however because of the difficulty getting it, I've been considering using a different block.

Lack of quartz was one of the primary reasons for my not continuing with my city. Having it soooo hard to source is just counter productive. I have happily mined for days and days on end to afford to buy the resources I need. The caps I earn for my effort allowed me to obtain good quantities of materials. I am a builder. To go mad with frustration trying to mine a handful of quartz fluff and dealing with mobs, is something I just gave up on. Hence my plans for some spectacular temples never eventuated. Making it mega expensive is weird too. It's like quartz, a basic building block in human society, is a privelege. If you want mind bending constructs then you should consider making the basic building blocks (any of them) easy to obtain with a bit of effort, not agonising frustration. Quite frankly I see the restriction on quartz as a form of snobbery that should never have been allowed.

I take your point. And in some ways I do agree with you there.

I know when the nether resets I'm going to spend days mining quartz to donate to people who are using it to build large projects (DCL_, dph, Jeff, etc) :) just to help... Because I personally don't have a use for it atm xD

<3 I only need about 10 more stacks of it!

That is very noble, however it is also off topic. Why a versitile and great looking building resource is withheld from the shop on a site that prides itself on the quality of it's build is very strange. As I said before, it smacks of elitism.

Quartz really should be in the shop, since it is such a pain to get. Nether hasn't reset in forever, so it's been extremely limited for months now. I mean, there are other items in the shop that are pretty rare, like Emerald, so why couldn't Quartz go in?

Does that include me?

No. They actually need(ed?) it. Although since it hasn't reset yet, I can't get any

If you go with a fire resist pot and strip, you can find some stray ore veins.

If it were to be sold, you might want to have either the item or both block and item, because quartz isn't JUST for building, gotta think of all aspects, like the redstone side of things :P
