Animal Breeding Turned off?!

When will animal breeding be turned back on?! i heard people were crazily spawning mobs but its not fair to others!

More then likely not until we switch to 1.3 when it is released.

You'd have to ask Mojang about that one, the closest thing to an official estimate on a release date is "The release of Minecraft 1.3 is getting closer, but we still need to test more before it’s ready." taken from the most recent post on mojang.com

I think breeding is back on. Lauren says she was only milking it but somehow got cows to breed.

Hey, question, does anybody know if breeding includes thrown eggs spawning baby chickens? Because I wasted like 23 eggs trying to get chickens in my old Historic plot the other day, and not one of them gave me a chicken. I'm not sure if they don't work in Historic (since nothing spawns there naturally as far as I know) or if my luck is just terrible....

I needed feathers, and Build has TONS of sheep, but almost no chickens. (Kinda low on cows and pigs too...) Did somebody mess with the spawn rates, or are sheep just more common?
