I had this idea.
Since we have lot of griefs, and most of them are broken glass, or lightstone, or anything else easy to break, maybe increasing the time to break glass and/or lightstone will decrease the amount of griefing.

A con is tho, that it may be a pain if you want to remove something made of glass..
Maybe we could have some system that would allow people to break glass at a normal rate, if they ask an admin/mod, and the admin/mod verifies it's for fair use.
Not sure if that would be possible though.

So this is my idea, discuss :P

Hi gijgijs, we appreciate your suggestion. We have a few different plugins that monitor the world and can help us to determine who is at fault for any given grief. Rather than adjust the world to battle griefers, we have chosen to simply monitor it and deal with the bad apples as we find them. If you are experiencing a high rate of griefing, you can ask a mod to apply protection to any given build, but please be aware that not all builds are suitable for protection and these requests will be discussed on an individual basis.

static its an town so then every resident will need his own cuboid.
cant we just ban the people who griefed?
thats much easier

Yeah I now that static. I was just thinking that this costs lots of time from mods, and admins. Also, not getting your house griefed, is better then having it griefed, even if it gets repaired/taken care of. Also, what joozt said. We have a cuboid for the town square, but we can't have every building seperately cuboided for the owners.

Joozt, it is our policy to ban anyone that is found guilty of griefing. Is every single person in your town experiencing a high level of griefing on their houses?

Gijsgijs, I agree that it's better to avoid griefing all together. In your first post you outlined the idea of modifying the break speed of certain blocks by default with the ability for users to request they break at a normal speed -- an idea like this would take MUCH more of the admins/mods time than they currently require to go and look at your grief and rollback damages.

In terms of cuboid/region protection, we can discuss the possibility of applying a cuboid/region to a larger area of Mushtown and add your residents to the modify list. If you took a little time now to make a list of these users, it would save a lot of time in the future. If your residents are griefing each other, you may want to start an application process :P

The joy of owning a city, eh boys? :)

Lol, there are lots of fun parts to running a town :) And i'm sure there are even way more fun parts on taking care of a server lol. (and much more work haha)
I'm not sure about this idea making it more work for admins. But you could be right there, if you are, all my arguments are void XD

About everyone experiencing griefs: yeah, almost. Most of it is little stuff, like, broken windows, or lightstone. But stuff has been stolen, and also bricks have been broken and stolen, wood griefed, etc.

About the cuboid thing, thats maybe a good idea. This would however take much work for us, for you, and for the people wanting to join the town a lot of time waiting. Unless we would have the possibility to actually edit the cuboid ourselves, that would take most of your part of the work away. I like this idea though, it would have much other cool features too, like people being forced to ask us to build there. I hope something like it will be possible.

Edit: We should probably move this to PM or at least a different sub lol.

gijs i like the way you think however at the moment the admins and mods are exploring possibly with creating areas like what you have suggested. their has been talks and we are still looking into how things will be changing on the server and how our users will interact with it.

this topic has started to go into the admins discussions now.. i believe we should leave it as it stands at the moment.

admins/mods any further discussions should move to the admin forums.
