Any way to make mobs protected in build.

I was just thinking maybe you could make mobs protected in build so people dont steal the iron golems and such and that way IF villager trading is allowed we dont lose our villagers to anyone who wants to cause them harm. OF course mods could still slaughter them in any region if anyone has an undercover horde of mobs. Just a thought its not TOO important but it would be nice.

Edit:
Then again some people use chickens for archery ranges so I dont know what others would want.

You can protect blocks within coordinates, but animals are different. At any given time, they could be on multiple plots, if they are not caged.

I realize blocks can be protected ... lol. But the onDeath() event would give coordinates of the animal on death so im just surprised worldguard doesn't seem to have it.

It may appear in a future update.
I'm pretty sure that it hasn't been updated feature wise since 1.0

Not sure if this applies to the version we're on but the last version of it I looked at only affected people in gamemode 1. It's a shame there isn't a way to just protect by mob ID now that animals don't despawn (potential feature request to worldguard anyone?)

Mob protection has come up many times. At the moment, the only sure way is to completly enclose them behind walls and roof and lock those doors.

Yep. Only way to keep them safe is as limoman suggested.
If you're adding doors make sure you /cprivate them.

The creative protect plugin only handles certain aspects whilst in creative mode which is why the gamemode inventories are also split and item drops are disabled.
