Hey guys, I was wondering if whenever someone is banned, staff could auction of their plot to the public. It would be the minecraft storage wars! Im trying to think of any issues with doing this but none come to mind.

Thanks for your time,

-Benj

More often then not the people who are banned have little to nothing on their plot. When it comes up in reclaims it is cleared out and put back up for claim.

What happens if the claim belong to a guy thats been xray hacking?
If we auctioned that off then someone would end up with thousands of diamonds or something.

I posted this in the recent thread that was similar to this and ill post it again. We need to do some sort of weekly or monthly even where an OP puts random items into chests (Some single chests, some doubble) And label them as Lot 1, Lot 2 etc. Then, we can auction them off to the public. Some may be full of cobblestone, some may be full of iron and diamonds, while some may have music discs and enchanted swords. The possibilities are endless. Alien? Whats your opinion on this?

A lot better than auctioning the entire claim.
We can store the items from banned/inactive claims and create the lots for the events. The events may not be able to be scheduled at set times weekly or even monthly at times because it would depend on the number of users that had items in their plot.

Would it be better to give a few days or a week notice before the event?

Yeah I like DCL's idea and I agree with Alien, if we end up doing auctions there should be a few days notice

I believe this is intellectual property theft, but I hope this works out.

1. It was a joke. Ever heard of that one? It may have been a bad one and it is the internet where everyone hates each other but that's alright. Everyone is just trying to be less ignorant than the last person.

2. FBI Website for Intellectual Property Theft - LINK

If anyone needed a definition:

Quote:
It’s robbing people of their ideas, inventions, and creative expressions

It is not intellectual property unless you have a copyright, trademark, patent etc.

Calm down andrew, it clearly wasn't a joke otherwise you would have stated it in that actual post.
Please bear in mind that when writing forum posts, your intentions are not always clear hence people actual mention they were joking or usually have to include tags such as *sarcasm*

Right now it looks like you're trying to cover your ass for a stupid post.

returning back to the original conversation, I would love to see DCL's idea implemented eventually.
