Pretty bad block lag on the server atm, started yesterday and was manageable but has gotten both worse and more frequent today. Here's hoping we can identify the cause asap as it seems to persist within about a day of a restart.

not a restart a full test on what is the root cause is in order.

You do know that most problems can be fixed with a restart. or just restart the minecraft app.

A restart isn't a permanent solution in this case.
One of the plugins has a memory leak which is causing the lag, a restart would only be a temporary fix and you'll start to notice the lag again in no time.

Fixed for now, whack in a reply if the issues resurface.

Yet, you had to turn off the Live map? I don't ever rememver DynMap being a memory leak..

The live map has been causing a lot of server lag. I really do not think it is necessary to have one if we just start updating the maps a bit more.

Maybe there is a property for the live map to decrease the frequency of updating it.

I don't know what you are using for the "live map", but on a previous server, we had DynMap, and we never had a problem with it. So, you must be using a different plug in.

Beware for "Where are you?" more often...

My totally selfish opinion.

1/ I am here to build, mine and socialise, ie have fun.

2/ Block lag is a negative experience.

3/ If the removal of live map is proven to be the problem, then kill it off, until it's proven to be bug proof.

4/ The World map was always my tool of choice, as I can see everyones build at any time, unlike the live map. Sure it was a few days old, but what the heck! I know it's not currently being updated, but I feel the op's have so much on their plate that it is on the backburner.

5/ re-read 1/

If it is the live map, it's not the first time it's happened here. We had a live map a while back that was removed for the same reason I think. Live Maps clearly just don't like Minecraft Addicts.

yes we were using the Dynmap plugin. the live map has now been removed and will likely not be used again.

Then we got to delete the link to it. As in we I mean someone who has power to do so.

It doesn't do anything if you click on it, the map is already gone. I think only commanderfluffy can do it since he knows how the style is coded.

we already have changed the link the site is cached and will update once it spreads out the other servers.

that will prob be tomorow.

and its not only the map that is the main cause or the main reason. there are alot of other things interacting with the server. to assume that's all we did would be wrong.

and we are still checking to see if there is any thing else that might be the cause.

and the hole where area you? isent it simple? tpa over and there you go.

I dont see how thats a huge problem if its the sole cause of the lag then I rather have that to deal with. then some lag.
