building a vault

Right now all of my chests are scattered around my house and very unorganized so I think its time that I build a vault. Before I do it i was just wondering how people go about building one. Do you just make a room underground and put lots of chests around? How do people organize their chests to make it easier to find things?

EDIT: also is there a way to move chests without everything falling out?

Pretty much what you said.
I have a room underground that is packed with chests but lately it has started to get unorganised.
Im gonna have to move some stuff around, but you would tend to separate it into areas of different materials and place signs so you dont forget what is what.

and i dont think a chest can be moved without destroying it and having its contents spill out.
