hello , I was wondering what droppers do and why they are unplaceable like tnt


is it lag? dupes? insecure on smp?


why are they banned and what do they even do?

Main reason is that they cant be protected and potentially be used for evil.

If you need some placed Alien can do it for you, they've mainly been used for sorting systems.

Sorry, from talking to several people I have got answers from that they cause lag, due to different mechanics compared to for example dispensers. (I would guess as people would make tons of them as they are cheap and could be used to make massive chains of them) And from some machines that people have been able to make using them that could be quite destructive.
