Ender crystal at spawn suggestion

Alien you seem like Can you put an Ender Crystal at spawn? They look so cool i just found out they are in the game imagine the hours of fun we could have with it. We could decide on a name in a server poll and we could take turns cleaning it.

Can you even spawn them? It's an entity not a block.

Don't think you can spawn them anymore, at least according to the Wiki,

Before 1.2, Ender Crystals could be spawned using Spawn Eggs with ID 200 (in a server, these were created using /give <player name> 383 1 200).

Also according to the Wiki,

When hit by the player they will explode

But if all the blocks are protected, will the Crystal explode at all, or explode and come back. Then we would have people spamming on it and make the spawn a much more noisier place than it is now.
