Hey guys I am going to be making the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier. I'm sure most of you have seen the avengers movie or read the comics (I know I did) but if you didn't then here's a brief description:

"The Helicarrier, a fictional aircraft carrier that can fly, is the signature capital ship of the fictional intelligence/defense agency S.H.I.E.L.D., usually shown in Marvel Comics-published comic book magazines"

So this baby will be housed in the beautiful Islands, right next to the dolan duck on the highway, so drop by any time and say hello :)

This will take about a year to construct (by my guess) and will be a sister build to Shadow9198's PoA.

The original design is by David Turesson (who most of you know) but I noticed a few errors which I will be fixing to make this as accurate to the movie as possible. Some people wouldn't consider this a big build, seeing as its been done before, but Turesson only made the exterior, he never filled it in, and he made it on creative in SP. So far as I know, nobody has done it on a server without creative mode, by themselves. So this is a WORLD first

So now for the plan (starting on the 18th or 19th of August 2012):

She's is 260x154x77 which means the first 8-12 months (maybe more) will be spent on the outer hull

The next month or two will be spent prettifying the outside and touching up parts

Then I estimate a couple of months to completely renovate the interior with as many movie references as possible, i.e: Banner's lab or Loki's cage.

The only wire frames used will be to show the overall size of the beastie and to get around it (no creative, remember)

Well let the construction begin!

Hey it's me again (Uhhh not again). The first week of construction has finished! I'd like to thank Shadow9198 for help with gathering and supplying resources. Here be some pics

So this is a top view of this weeks progress from the top of my approximate sized frame

Then there's the view from the front of mine

And the view from the front of what it should look like, for comparison

So this week I managed an hour every second day, and spent a bit of time finding the sources of, and fixing the errors. Hopefully this won't happen in future, as sitting at a desk for 30 mins+ counting stone is just so amazingly fun :P

I'll see you guys next week!

Unfortunately this week I have been much less active :( I have been overwhelmed with assessment and will probably be too busy studying next week as well. I feel kind of bad, being so unproductive, but life does come before minecraft. So I'll leave you with this.

There are 3 levels of pain

1. Pain
2. Excruciating
3. Stepping on a Lego

Wow its been a hectic few weeks, and now I'm back. Got one particularly tricky layer done in the little time that I have had. Expect more updates soon. Holidays are here so that monkey in my head clapping two pickaxes together is on overdrive, he's called hector by the way. It's good to be back

Hey guys

So its the end of week 6 and I am finally noticing a change in the structure. Imgur is down at the moment and I want to keep all the pics in the same place. So I'll get some up as soon as I can. Thanks to Refined for fueling my furnace wall. I'll see you guys next week

Hullo my friends

On a sad note, I misplaced my power cable a few days ago. But I recovered it this morning :) Therefore I did not meet the schedule once again :( But that's just my luck. Since you guys need some visual 'entertainment' I present to you the updated pics from last week

Thanks guys, I understand that these setbacks are happening a bit too regularly, most I can't do anything about, so bear with me

Hey guys! You thought I was gone didn't you? Well that's too bad :)

Well I'm back after a long break (man it was good) and I have work to do! Now you may not notice a huge difference between this pic and the previous one (apart from a few layers) but here it is anyway

Now something I haven't done before! I have showed you where I am up to, but have you seen how far there is to go?

Oh and by the way, if you can see them, the torches show where I am up to. 1 torch = 1 block. It helps me keep track of this unsymmetrical structure.

Now apart from the many small details that won't make a visual difference, I have notice a mistake in the build :O I started one block closer to the highway than I intended. The only difference this will make is that the small antennae on the front will be one block shorter, thus saving me iron :D But yeah that can be a random trivia question about this build. Right, I'm out
