the order of players that are getting track to their claims is:

this is it for now, i will be doing more, i just want to have no more than 6 on my list at any time. its a stress thing.

there are plans to extend it that far eventually. though it wont be for some time.
 
michael its going to be awhile before i have subway track all the way up there, though there is plans to go to arctic city, so we could easily get a tunnel to go from there to you.

Richey, that track was dug before you made your claim, and i would be delighted to put in a station there.
 
Hehehe. I thought this server would need something like this. I was hoping I would instigate but I was beaten. :(

My current and next project will both incorporate a subway station. The next project wont be for a while but i'm already thinking about the station of my current.

Though I must voice caution as well as static and edge mentioned. Before I joined this server I was on another where they used a block mod to act as boosters and stops underneath minetracks. I'd recommend it to be used instead of the, already considered broken, minecart boosting system.


The server I was on modified the blocks used for boosting/stopping since gold and obsidian kept getting grief'd.

Edit: I think the mod is called the Mania mod... And another vid.

 
I would love to have that implemented! But for now its a no go by the mods
 
stevs: if the mod were to ever break and we couldnt use it, we would be screwed

bird: i would like to set up a donations thread, and somehow give a reward to those with the most donations, kinda like lofp did with the logo
 
Temporary Solution.

I've seen Bird's new no-grief boosters he's making and it looks like they wont be automated so that's good for server CPU usage. However i think it might take a while for all the boost stations to be replaced. I definitely want to help replace them if i can, but until then would it be a good idea to suggest people use coal powered carts? Also i like the Door Booster minecart station idea Tigger suggested for when we do get the boosters replaced. ;)



 
billaxle we have made and implemented in most of our stations, its almost that exact door booster without the water, and i have found a new and better set up will will probably be using from now on

Sounds awesome, And like i said, I'm willing to help out if you and Bird want me to. Once i get builder status that is. :P
 
Im ready to help so give me orders whether on here or in-game, the subway runs through my land so can start laying tracks, or dig somewhere else, or anything for that matter.
 
Do you guys have schematics or something that I can follow to make the boosters and stuff properly?
I'm wondering how we'll deal with intersections or hub stations.

Also, we should think about normalizing the signalisation, if it's not already done. And put up signs or some kind of signalisation to let people know their whereabouts.

we have 2 way interchanges, but signs saying where you are is awesome i will talk with bird if he doesnt see this
 
Soon im going to be posting a subway map like you would find in any subway in RL, showing stations with only rough track layout. as for other signage, there is signs on every interchange letting you know what station is in what direction.
 
Just finished my subway station, im ready to start digging the tunnel whenever. let me know.
