Golden picaxes vanishing.

I am trying hard to get a video of this but it never happens when im recording. Today I have lost 5 golden picaxes while mining. Not a big deal but yennage suggested I posted here if it kept happening. Its not happening every time but its happend quite frequently today. Others said they had the same problem. I dont expect my golden picaxes back so dont worry, just posting here as it happened again after yennage told me to post if it happened again. Ill try recording again.
 
I too have lost several golden pickaxes while mining. I am 100% sure i am NOT hitting animals. I was mining pure cobblestone and poof! The pickax just never regenerated. Just vanished.
 
I hope this bug creeps up to all tools so we could enchant and trade with villagers instead. People could still use /kit tools.
 
Well for now, we probably won't get enchantments and trading and I'd like the infinite tools back. I lost a golden pickaxe a few weeks ago, thought it was lag and forgot about it, but afaik I haven't seen it back.
 
Infinite gold tools are still on, they were repairing all day yesterday for me no problem.

As for enchanting and infinite tools, it's been discussed, and there's been some ideas tossed around.
 
I've lost endless amount of gold pick axes, when that happens, try to break piece of dirt with your hand and the pickaxe should appear.
OR
Open your inventory place an item over the slot where the pickaxe was and then close the inventory. That will force the pickaxe to be dropped on the ground.
If those dont work then you better have a stash of gold saved to make new pickaxe. :P
We'll look up for a fix.
 
Yea I know about those kinds of picaxe loses. The ones I have been experiencing lately have been the ones where its just gone. Breaking a block, clicking the slot dont work.

OH AND about the enchanted tools. DO you know how many people would donate to the server if you could purchase unbreakable slik touch or efficienty picaxes? Its not like it would be unfair because we cant bring them to PVP

I would be one of those people to donate if we had enchantments or enchanted tools for purchase. Just saying again that enchanted tools could replace these infinite gold tools. Even if we could just purchase enchanted tools, that would be far superior to infinite tools. So much more things with enchanted tools besides just speed which we get slightly with gold tools.
 
just so you guys know we are working on a way to have said features.

it will take more time and has been a project for a while. but our goal is to have it.

as for the pickaxes maybe something to do with the current lag? or something with 1.3

it is something to look into.
 
Lofp thats grea to hear. The picaxe bug is only happening to me very frequently when i use Linux. Never happens on windows. I dont know why, but I can confirm that is the case. When I use Linux i can lose up to 5 picaxes a day windows it never happens.

This has pretty much always been present and is caused by lag either client or server side (usually client).
Simply put, your hits aren't registered properly and the plugin gets a little confused. I'll be working on it to see if I can minimise the occurrences for now but we're talking about other options as lofp said.
 
I've got no idea why Linux would cause it to happen more often, all I can think of is that there's something inefficient in your setup.
 
OpenJDK. While I can play fine, My keyboard, and mouse constantly have issues with lag and I have lots of times where it will triple click so I think thats why It happens. Im just using windows now anyways.
 
but there is a problem with enchantment. what if you had a pick with silk touch and the lucky one (get more drops with one break). that would = infinite diamond or what ever you wanted to have. all you gotta do is go to pve mine one ore of diamond come to build then place and break and repeate

the more drops only works with items, not blocks. so silk touch and fortune together are worthless
