I got minecraft a few weeks ago, when my brother-in-law showed it to me. I've been hooked ever since. After taking some time in the single player (survival and creative), I thought it was time I try an online community. I was searching and found your guys website first, so I thought I'd try it out. I've been so impressed. When I first logged onto the server, at least 4 people said hello, and one (Steffan) began to explain to me, in detail, how to get my own land claim. I now have my land (S4, W20) and I'm starting a myriad of building projects.
I've heard stories of people having rather terrible experiences with the online community of minecraft, but I must have hit the "diamond" in the first dig, sorta speak.
A little about myself.
I'm 25 years old, working full time while I attend college, attaining a bachelors in history. My love of building things was first cultivated in lego's, which then grew into video games. I never found a game that matched the imagination of Legos until minecraft. I understand why you named the server addicts, as I'm sure it's what I'm slowly becoming (or might have already).
I'm looking forward to being more involved with others in the community, and hope you take the time to say hello, as well come join me for future projects, or send me a line to join yours.
P.S. to Zelduc (my neighbor, S3, W21) sorry about the tree that grew into your land.
