Higher brightness

Hey guys, alot of people complain how they're computers are so dark, and they have to carry around a trillion torches while mining. Well, my friend (from another server, don't ask) made this video on how to turn your brightness up. It is not changing moody to bright in your options. It is also not a mod or hack, like fullbright. Not sure if this is legal (if it is, tell me) but for now, I use it to brighten things up. Hope this helps!
P.S: As you can tell, this is for a PC, not sure if it works for Mac users.

With a Mac, I just reach my finger up 3 keys. : )

i find it hard to believe u change the in game gamma setting by just reachin up 3 keys.. u may be changing the over all gamma settings on ur monitor or something else.. just saying

In my opinion, 1000.0 is a bit bright, I play at 750.0. Also anywhere over 500.0 I get horrid contrast, not sure if that's my computer though.

This may just be my opinion, but...

We DO NOT allow any Mod/Glitch/Hack that gives you an advantage over other players. Ex: game exploits, flying, smart move, item spawning, duping blocks, speed hacking, X-Ray mods or X-ray-texturepacks. (Emphasis mine)

It seems like our rules would say you aren't allowed to use this. But if any other staff have a different opinion, feel free to share it.

This is an option imbedded within Minecraft itself, same for mouse sensitivity as well which if you look, is also adjustable in Options. It is not an external modification, it is simply the alteration of a parameter given to us by Minecraft, just like altering the mouse. If I have a faster graphics card, Octo CPU's and am closer to the primary node on the internet I have an advantage over someone with a commodore 64 using dialup. Personally, I only mine and build, so for me, there is not battle advantage. I reckon make sure everyone knows about the option, so no-one has an advantage in battle. I told dozens of people about it last night.

as far as i can tell this is not a game exploit.

it is part of the game itself. and is usefull and requires you to find it.

it is a default option that should have been built into the game G.U.I. and should be in the video settings under brightness...

recomended so it isnt always super lame anywhere from 0.0 - 2.0 should be sufficient and not a disruption to the gameplay... as it is your own client...

in no way should this be banned as its not an exploit like dupeing or xray etc.
