503 generally relates to the minecraft auth servers. They may be down or something.
 
*sigh*
Please look to Google before make these threads. One quick search led me to the Mojang support page, which nicely says that multiplayer is down.

I got on earlier (about 3 hours or some thing before this post) and was able to play, no one was on so not much point in playing.
