in attempts to eat healthier and possibly save/make some money, we have decided to try our luck at aquaponics. here are some pics of the systems we are making. we got one done( just needs fish and plants ). if all goes well we will be making about 4 in total unless they sell then we will make more as needed. these are also expandable so u can run more than one grow bed off of each tank. I cant wait to see how they work out.

Awesome! what plants are you putting on top? Also I cant wait till global warming allows me to do this in Canada!!!

I remember you telling me this on vent, and when I asked what is was, you said "Google it". I still haven't googled it. Can you tell me what it is??

cheezy its still better if u google or watch a video but aquaponics is the mixture of hydroponics and aquaculture. this system basicly recreates what nature does best right in your backyard.. i plan to grow tomatoes, squash, cucumber, and maybe some strawberries. another thing u could always scale this down and make it fit in a closet inside or a spare bedroom if its too cold to grow outside.

lol refined its more about the organic food than the fish. Not until u get on really big scales does the amount of fish grown really become usable. and wow 44 dollars for the bell siphon alone from amazon. only cost about 5dollars worth of assorted pvc pieces, pvc glue, hacksaw, and about 15mins to make a bell siphon
