FYI - don't try and fool the system. Vote legitamtely, not like you haven't been before, but our votes specifically have been reset due to fradulant votes.

I'm not happy with Minestatus because I feel we do a better job then everyone else when it comes down to spamming votes.

I'm talking to Minestatus now for a better explanation.

Hmm that sucks, don't know who was voting with proxies, though.

At least they are doing something about the proxy voting though.

blah. we dont need to cheat to win something like this. it will only make us look bad.

all my legit votes down the drain :(

I have the advantage of having 2 ip addresses (one at work one at home) and I will leverage that.

In all fairness though there is no way those top 2 servers are legit, a 3k vote gap is a bit insane.

Exactly, i vote from home and school for the server.
I find it a little odd how the top servers are leading by a large gap, something isn't quite right there.

Battlecraft force people to vote for them prior to being whitelisted. Seems kinda fraudulent to me...

What?! That's not good... They develop a system that can't prevent proxy votes then reset them despite the fact that the proxy vote could have come from quite literally anyone including members of other servers, that's just weak :(

I also agree with the comments about the top 2 servers who seem to put a massive emphasis on simply getting the votes (I believe one of them forces you to wait like a minute to get on their site if you don't vote and I'm sure some of the others have some rather dubious methods)

Try not to rely on Minestatus so much. A lot, but not all, traffic is derived from there. I think we should be more focused on improving our rank on google or other search engines.

I see a lot of websites doing the same!

This thread has been created to ask people not to cast "fraudulent" votes at Minestatus. Let's not clutter it up with suggestions on how to improve on SEO.

I'm extremely disappointed with their system and how they decide to reset votes. I'm still waiting on an explanation so I'll let you know what they get back with.

Edit: I'm talking with the owner and hopefully we'll come to a resolution.

And Yen, your reason is exactly why I'm pissed and not giving up. There's a flaw with their system and we took the hit. Not fair.

Minestatus, thank you.

They've removed their funky algorithm and changed it to limit 60 votes per hour. They asked me if I would prefer less legitimate votes opposed to a full reset, I said absogoddamnlutely.

And... We got our votes back!

Lol, were they expecting you to fell guilty or something for having non-legit votes?

Wewt! :)

Good job, hopefully those tards will fix something. Clearly their system is broken.

Thank god for that.
At least we're back up where we belong, but we can sure do better!

I joined the battlecraft server for a little bit to find out what was going on. They are using some pretty dirty tricks to get votes. One, I think we all know, is requiring voting to sign up. But, they also offer special events/rewards when the server gets enough votes. Someone needs to clean up minestatus from all these servers doing this and clearly define the rules of minestatus. If there are any. If not, put some in place.

Yeah at another server I've been to they have a zone with renewable resources (it's where people mine because the rest of their world has been mined) and they will not renew that zone unless they get a certain number of votes.. usually 500 at least.

To me, these are just more reasons that we are a better server.

It doesn't make sense to me that you would vote for a server before you even play on it. You should be voting for the server you like the best.
