The number of mobs needs to be limited again...it's waaaaaayyy to laggy in the outlands to do any sort of resource hunting/gathering.

agreed not sure what the setup is or what can be done but tiberum myself and gods have noticed this.

last time I think there was some difficulty with this not sure if any thing has changed.

1.9 brings breeding and will not spawn as much...

Hopefully this will fix this issue as well.

I agree only because ive been gang beaten by mobs of creepers so many times in the outlands to the point where ive lost all my mining loot.

Huh I usually don't go out there so I wouldn't know this stuff. I don't believe thikngs have changed however because of the lack of users online you should spawn morearound you if your the only one out there.

It's a shame there's no way of determining how many players are in the outlands at any one time. As it stands, sometimes you're lucky e.g if you're the only one on or loads of people are in the outlands but it seems to get pretty bad if you're the only one out there with 8+ people online

The mob count was limited a while back, but it was taken off or raised for a bit, and it had no problems, but now it seems as more and more mobs keep spawning and it causes lag in that area only. When you leave for 5 or so minutes and come back, the lag is mostly gone, also it gets exponentially worse at night.

It'd be great if there was a way to limit the amount of mobs in caves underground, because even if you don't see them, they're still there, causing lag 24/7.

A lot of people with houses in the outlands or anything else that they're building is usually underground. This means that more mobs spawn down there, and because it's always dark in the unexplored caves, all of them usually stay alive.
