For old times sake we have archived the forums to keep bot spam down and keep the original history of the server archived for future players to browse. We have moved to discord now for a closer community feel. If the server gains a ton more players again like the past the forums will reopen with the original sections archived and locked.

This seems to be a known issue, but there is no thread regarding it. I am no longer able to use /money rank. /money works. Many others seem to be having this issue as well. Looking forward to this being fixed. Thanks :D
 
We intended for "/money rank" to be disabled. It's destabilizing to the economy if people are accumulating money just to reach the top of an arbitrary leaderboard. Unlike the real world, there are no retirement plans, no kids to put through college, and no medical bills. Your caps are meant to be spent.

Ah well I will spend it all on the chateux that I am making. Updates about that might come at the weekend depending what I want to do :D
 
Thank you for clarifying.

Even several mods that i have recently mentioned this "problem" to did not know that this was an intentional update. Perhaps changes in the future should also reflect in the game (ie /money help still shows the rank feature) and the forums (I searched key words /money rank before posting and everything indicated this feature was still available).
 
With all the changes the shops and money have gone through, it's possible there may still be a leaderboard and it's just not that command, but I've made my point about how a leaderboard really doesn't do us any good. In a game where a scoreboard exists just for the purpose of tracking who's on top, that's fine. But Minecraft is a growing, procedural world with parameters that defy competitive gaming standards. We aren't playing against each other (unless you count the endless war against griefers), but WITH each other.

The caps are a means to an end, not an end in themselves. If people are hoarding caps for the purpose of hoarding caps, the economy is not healthy.
 
Logistically speaking, we are not in the business of modifying plugin functionality (or the associated help file texts). This would simply chew up more time than we could possibly spare. The '/money rank' issue was a bug that lead to the inevitable removal of permissions to that function (for all of the reasons edge has listed). You may see a command or feature listed in the help for any given plugin but this does not speak to it's availability. The inherent foundations of 'help' in bukkit are one of it's less popular features, so it's safe to say that as these plugins mature we will have more control over listing functional controls.
