Notch said that it doesn't really work right now so it is not actually increased yet.
 
Damnit now I have to go back and rebuild all my buildings to max height...
 
wait wait wait... if he was gonna raise it why the hell did he stop max height at 127 and not 128 in 1.6 yup confidence in notch has died.
 
you guys have it way wrong

that picture is all about the hunger bar and the XP bar

and about the height limit its NOT getting raised but he did make it easier for modders to change the height limit
 
lets not forget that this is BETA still and notch has community-immunity from causing game-crashing updates because he DID state that
some new updates can erase your world save file.
